What Kind Of Dog Food Does Aldi Sell?

Aldi has a huge selection of dog food products, even though their inventory is small compared to Walmart.

  • Heart to Tail Dog Food
  • The complete nutrition dry dog food, Heart to Tail’s 18.5-lb. size is perfect for large dogs. Only $9.69 for the bag.

It does try to provide all vitamins and minerals dogs need for a healthy and long life.

However, it leaves much to desire as the ingredients list does not include any real meat. Instead, there are only meat products. The first three ingredients are whole grain corn, meat and bone meal and corn germ meal.

It is also a very large dog, with a weight of almost 20lbs. owners of multiple big dogs might not find it as convenient as buying their usual brand, which may be sold in much bigger bags.

Canned: Heart to Tail sells cans in 3.5-ounce tins for 45 cents.

  • Pure Being Dog Food
  • Pure Being is focused on delivering healthier, more nutritious foods. It uses no fillers. Meat is the most important (and abundant) ingredient.

Canning: The cans are 14.1 oz. You can get canned meats in 3 flavors: chicken and beef, vegetables and brown rice as well as salmon and potatoes for just $1.59

But there’s one problem with canned food. Dogfood.guide warns that, despite the attractive label and the impressive ingredient list, the food still contains carrageenan.

  • Carrageenan can be a problem in foods for humans. This is because it is linked with different kinds of cancer.
  • Dry Pure Being Dog Food is a better choice than the dry Pure Being Chicken & Rice dog food (5-lb. Bag) or Salmon & Potato (four-pound. bag) flavors.

Salmon & Potato contains the following nutritious ingredients: sweet potatoes, deboned salmon and whole ground garbanzo bean (chickpeas), lentils, fish oil, dried cranberries, peas and peas.

Aldi’s Pure Being label is the best example of this healthy, nutritious product.

Is Aldi Dog Food A Good Deal?

Aldi Dog Food In 2022 (Price, Types, Suppliers, Quality + More)

You’re probably already aware that Aldi prices everything – including their dog food – lower than most supermarkets would (or can!). Are you sure it’s a good deal all things considered?

Let’s look at a couple of options.

  • Aldi’s Heart to Tail Complete Nutrition costs just 54 cents per Pound; at Wegmans, a comparable Pedigree bag will cost you 69 Cents per Pound. The first three ingredients in both are whole grain corn (with meat, bone meal, and gluten meal), respectively.
  • The Heart to Tail is the best deal if you are concerned more about budget than the quality of the ingredients.

It will be broken down to another choice. Pure Being Dry can be purchased for less than $6, or $1.47 per kilogram. Rachel Ray Nutrish zero grain costs $1.80 per kilogram (or $9.87/5.5-lb. bag).

Both cases use chicken or chicken meal as the top two ingredients. The meal is acceptable because it’s named from the chicken source. It’s a bargain! This saves over 3 dollars. In fact, it costs only 4 dollars to buy a similar-sized bag.

Aldi’s dog food also compares well to the name brands.

The Pure Being wet food in a 14.1-oz. It costs 1.99 or 11c per ounce. Blue Buffalo Homestyle Recipe Natural, a comparable brand, is $1.59, which is about $1.59. Walmart is Aldi’s discount rival. It can be purchased at $2.08 or 17c per ounce.

  • Blue Buffalo’s come in a smaller can and costs more. It also contains more ingredients than Pure Being. Pure Being has real proteins and broths as its first ingredient. Blue Buffalo’s contains carrageenan.
  • Aldi’s canned food can hold its own against Blue Buffalo, but it won’t break the bank. This canned dog food is great value.

Aldi dog food offers a solid deal regardless of whether it is standard or higher end.

Aldi dogfood comes in smaller packages so you might find it easier to use. ).

Aldi’s Heart to Tail label food is not the best quality food for your pup.

But, the ingredients of the product are quite similar to the direct competitors in this field. It’s therefore not like the quality is exceptional compared with other products on the market.

Pure Being food products are a completely different matter.

This food contains mostly wholesome and nutritious ingredients, things we’d be happy to feed our children or ourselves (like chick peas, blueberries and cranberries, for example).

Pure Being is a high-quality food. It’s not the best or most expensive, but it’s better than Heart to Tail. It would be a proud thing to feed your dog this food.
