What are the minimum stamps I will need for a Manila Envelope from USPS 2022
Smaller sizes (e.g. Forever Stamps only for 5 x 7 or 6 x 9 envelopes weighing less that 1 ounce. For heavier envelopes, an additional ounce stamp will be needed in 2022. Larger manila envelopes (e.g. Flats are 9×12 manila envelopes. They start at $1.16 per ounce. Two Forever Stamps will cover this amount.
Do You Have to Mail Manila Envelopes with Only One Stamp?

How many stamps do I need for a 6×9 Manila Envelope
As with 5 x 7 envelopes, 6 x 9 manila envelopes also fit USPS’ criteria for standard-size letters.
You can send them via First-Class mail. As long as the envelope is less than one ounce, one Forever Stamp will cover all postage costs.
You will need an extra ounce stamp to make sure your envelope is 6×9 and weighs in at least 1.1 ounces or 2 ounces. This cost is $0.20
In a similar manner, if your envelope weighs between 2.1 ounces and 3.0 ounces, you’ll need 2 additional ounce stamps.
The maximum 6 x 9 inch weight for First Class letter mail is 3.5 ounces. Otherwise, it will be marked as large or flat.
For a Manila 9×12 Envelope, how many stamps will I need?
This size manila envelope is the most commonly used, as it accommodates standard paper measuring 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
USPS classifies envelopes of this size as large envelopes/flats.

At current rates, you need to attach 2 Forever Stamps to cover the postage of a 1-ounce 9 x 12 manila envelope.

For example, an 8 x 9 inch manila envelope weighing 2 ounces requires 3 stamps (2 Forever Stamps) plus one extra ounce stamp.
For each 3-ounce envelope you need 4 stamps (2 Forever Stamps) and 2 more ounce stamps.
Can I Use Forever Stamps on a Manila Envelope?
While there’s nothing wrong with using Forever Stamps on manila envelopes, metered postage is usually a better option.
Mailing can be ordered at the postoffice or via authorized postage meters, which are leased to small-businesses.
Metered mail looks more professional and will also prevent you over- or underpaying for it. It may also reduce delays in delivery.
