Bissell ProHeat Revolution Pet Pro carpet cleaning machines are great for enhancing your daily routine. They are extremely useful in removing odors or stains. Additionally, renting or hiring professional-grade carpet cleaners can be more expensive.
The Bissell Pet Pro claims to be designed with pet owners in mind, which is a really appealing concept, as many other carpet cleaners don’t handle pet hair and odors well. I tried it out on my long-haired dog to see if the claims were true. These are the results.
Bissell Proheat 2X revolution Carpet Cleaner – How Cleans It?
Fired up, the first thing you and your neighbours will notice about the PreHeat 2x Revolution is the noise. It is properly loud at 86-87dB, about the same as standing by a busy street in London, but part of the cacophony was a high-pitched shriek. We are not sure what was causing this whistling noise but it was like a high-speed dentist drill and equally unpleasant. We did not experience any discomfort, and although carpet cleaners do tend to be very quiet, we recommend that carpet cleaning with Bissell is left until neighbours arrive.
Bissell had to overcome the challenge of the red deep rug in our living space, which is a popular spot for them to lounge on an evening. Deep Cleaning Mode: We mixed the febreze solution with warm water in a gallon-sized 74ml bottle. According to the instructions of Bissell, two slow, wet passes were made spraying the cleaner and then two slow, dry passes vacuuming up any remaining liquid. Given the Bissell’s weight, it was quite easy to move and wasn’t very strenuous on your arm.
We were shocked at how much the carpet had changed after just a few strokes. ProHeat 2x Revolution carpet picked up quite a bit of dirt as the tank filled up quickly. This is not common as many shampooers only get half of the water they use. The Bissell picked up 75% to 80% for our short-pile rug. That is excellent as it means both a good clean and that the carpet will dry off quicker.
The Bissell was able to spray a significant amount of solution in Deep Clean mode, adhering strictly to the two-strokes method. A full tank of solution was used to clean a large rug measuring 1.8m by 2.3m. Though it works well, Bissell is not referring to Deep Clean. Express cleaning uses less solution per square inch. A single stroke of spraying can clean most carpets, even though you may want to deep clean.
You cannot argue with these results, even though our somewhat dog-eared but lifeless rug still looked great! The water tank in the basement was equally filthy and unattractive. Febreze made it smell fresh and clean.
Next, it was time to tackle the tricky red wine spillage problem on a white carpet. Once again the Bissell performed admirably and only required a couple of passes to remove the stain. We were using the Febreze lighter detergent. From past experience, however, the Oxygen Boost fluid would be even better.
Another glass of Rioja was poured in the name and review. The hose, Extra Tough Stain tools and a similar stain were used to remove the stain. The cleaning fluid sprays at an alarming rate, regardless of whether you use the Deep/Express settings. Be careful on areas that are not fully saturated.

Tests of the Bissell Bissell 2X Revolution Pet’s cleaning abilities were made by placing a carpet under a… red Fox urine solution. In case you’re wondering, it smells like pungent skunk and was the perfect adversary to this carpet cleaner. One 18-by-18 inch piece of carpet was covered with urine. We used about half an ounce. It was a strong smell that made our eyes water.
The Pet Pro Oxy Urine Eliminator Cleaning Solution was included to help us avoid the smell. Two minutes later, the Bissell Pet ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet eliminated any traces of odors from carpets.
Our colleague took the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet with him to try it out on an area rug his two dogs use. The cleaner was able to eliminate odors. It also didn’t clog the unit with dog hair.
