HOW IT WORKS – Its unique dual-chambered design…

WHAT IT CAPTURES – A…

The year that I had both mud-daubers and hornets lurking around my old apartment, this trap was a literal lifesaver. My second-floor balcony was home to pests who were looking for a place to call their own.

While that was a few years ago, in terms of design this Rescue model is still one of the best on the market. There are two lures included. The sweet lure is the one that is most appealing, while the protein-rich lure is the opposite. Both lures can be found on opposite ends, and each section is separate.

Insects that crawl into the lower part of the tube will be caught within and will suffocate inside. Insects that enter the tube’s top will die from the excess water.

Due to the dual lures one or both sides may fill up faster, which will allow you to distinguish the types of insect you are dealing with.

Rescue recommends placing these at least 20 feet away from human-inhabited areas. While that’s effective if you have multiple traps ringing your yard, it’s not as useful for smaller space control.

Even though the balcony is just 10 feet away, placing it away from your entry/exit works great. It’s best to keep it at least 15 feet from the most frequented spaces in my home.

The best thing about this unit is its bird safety. With yellow sticky traps, the slightest brush of a bird’s wing can cause it to get stuck, risking injury to the bird and reducing your ability to catch insects. The Trapstik is equipped with a plastic “cage”, to stop sticky surfaces from getting stuck.

It is also very attractive because the sticky surface attracts wasps, carpenter and mud daubers.

You can use it under an awning or directly in your garage. Simply attach the top to where you’d like it to be placed. It doesn’t need an aromatic lure. Only insects who are in close proximity to it will be caught.

This is what I do not like. It remains a sticky trap. The sticky panel will remain in place if any kind of insect gets too close. This includes beneficial insects, and we want those to stay!

Once the sticky surface is coated with dead bugs, you’ll have to throw this out and replace it. The best way to do this is with a lured catch.

Use Wasp traps with these tips

It is common to set traps for wasps in summer. But by that time, they are usually already a danger. The wasps have established nests already and are reproducing. An active nest will outlast a trap. Sprays are recommended for this time. Pests will be less likely than ever to fall for traps if they are fed abundantly by now, as there’s plenty of food in the summer. You can stop the wasps from reproducing by setting up a trap for them in spring.

Also, it is crucial to correctly place traps. Because traps are designed to lure wasps into your home, they should not be placed too close. Place wasp traps at least 20 feet away from outdoor living spaces. Place a trap where wasps are most likely to be found. The trap should be hung on a tree branch, as this is the place where they will gather for fruit.

Hang traps in the spring to control the wasp population.

You should not place bee traps in close proximity to your outdoor living areas.

Placards can be hung near fruit trees to trap wasps.

Best Hornet Traps & Wasp Traps

It is a daunting challenge to deal with wasps or hornets.

It is crucial to eliminate them, as they can be very aggressive and can often sting several times. You or your loved one may be allergic to their venom. The symptoms can be mild to severe and even life-threatening.

According to the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology, about half of those affected don’t know they have an allergy and are unable to take necessary precautions. It’s important to get help if you see a problem. You can use traps to manage an issue without being involved and minimize your risk.

The Top 5 Best Wasps And Hornet Traps 2019 Review outlines the best products to protect yourself and those you love from these harmful insects. These traps offer a more natural way of getting rid of them. They don’t require sprays to aggravate or increase their chances of attack. You can read on to find out more.

Best Indoor Wasp Trap

Wait, what? You need an indoor bee trap. I’m not necessarily talking about setting one of these up in your living room, though I would if heaven forbid, the wasps managed to invade the house.

Many other structures are available that can be used as “indoors” such as garages.

On the one hand, you want to trap the ones that decide to nest in there, but you don’t exactly want to use a trap with a wasp scent attractant. It is not a good idea to invite more wasps inside the structure. You can use a combination sight lure or a non-toxic sticky trap to capture the wasps and keep them away.

Rescue Non-Toxic Wasp Trap is extremely effective inside our greenhouse. Our first wasp was caught in minutes. Every wasp since has been captured. No more indoor wasp nests, and we can go in the greenhouse again without being assaulted.

The installation of hanging wasptraps is easy, although this trap can pose a problem. You can’t get any space free from the tanglefoot glue. It is very sticky. You must be completely prepared to hang this trap.

Amazon has many negative reviews about this sticky trap. There are numerous photos of dead birds stuck to the trap. This is the main reason why Amazon gave it a 1-star rating. Since then, the trap has been fitted with bird guards to prevent birds getting trapped. This is not an issue for indoor use.

They now have bird guards so we bought some more to hang on our porch. This paper wasp trap has been hands down the best, so it is very likely that the new guards will work outdoors.

People who have been stung with wasps find it terrifying. Although they can be dangerous, wasps are actually beneficial insects that only eat insects. The wasps like sugars, proteins and carbohydrates which may make your summertime picnics more uncomfortable.

Sprays and baits can be helpful but generally contain toxins that may not be appropriate around your family. The best way to get rid of them is to create your own DIY wasp traps. How effective are homemade wasp traps? You can make a trap from scratch or purchase one that works. It all depends on the time you use it and your diligence in cleaning it.

A trap should be set out in early spring to prevent the insect population from growing. The queens or females are often moving around in the spring. It is believed that each queen caught will represent 1000 workers later in season.

You must also keep the trap clean. The buildup of dead wasp bodies will create a raft for living wasps that get trapped. These wasps will live surf and find their way to the bottom of the container.

The best way to get wasps at your trap is not by using bright colors or fancy styling. Instead, they are drawn to sweet scents. If you don’t properly bait the wasps or clean up after them, even the most effective traps can be useless.

To begin, you’ll need an empty glass jug. Plastic is easiest to work with and it should be large enough to accommodate both several inches (7.5 cm.) of liquid and some flying space. Very well, you can use a large one-liter soda container.

Take off the cap just below the place where it becomes wider. The top can be removed and inverted so that the spout lies inside the bottle. Although some instructions for homemade bee traps suggest that you dip the spout in honey or jam, this is not necessary.

Pour a few inches (5 cm.) You should add a little sugar water to your bottle. The idea is to have the insect fly in to get the sugar and not be able to fly out. You can cover the hole with packing tape if it is too big.

This is the best Yellow Jacket Trap

**Winner** Rescue Reusable Yellow Jacket Trap. According to my experience, it is the Rescue Reusable Trap that has been the most successful trap. This trap is very well-liked and can be assembled in a matter of minutes. This trap will quickly catch yellow jackets if you add some liquid, the attractant and some meat. It’s also very easy to clean. Before it starts to fill up, we can capture about 100 wasps.

Overall cost: $10-$15 per unit plus $8 per refill. The cost of managing a 0.5-acre lot is $60.00. There are 3 traps and 3 refills.

Notable Note:

Biocare Yellow Jacket & Wasp Trap. See below for details. Winner:

Biocare Yellow Jacket with Wasp Trap was my favourite yellow jacket trap.

Biocare made the trap attractive, and more important, opaque. This means that it is not possible to see the dead wasps outside. Why isn’t everyone doing it? If you place this trap outdoors, it will only produce a yellow blob and not dozens or hundreds of dying, chaotic yellow jackets.

It works well. It performed almost as well as the most efficient pick. This is perhaps our most favorite all-around trap. It has enjoyed a huge popularity increase in our region over the past 2 years.

Winner: Make it Yourself If you are looking for the most affordable yellow jacket trap possible, then building one is your best option. You can make a functional yellow jacket trap with just two liters of soda, sugar, hotdog, and water. It costs less than one dollar.
