Why is USPS saying Delivered, but no Package?
An “Incomplete” package could mean that it was not delivered. This may be caused by a USPS scanning error or because the mail carrier left the package unattended. However, if neither of these situations is the cause of a missing package, contact your local post office to retrieve your package’s location.

USPS will file a Missing Mail Claims if they are unable to assist and the package has not arrived after seven days. To file, visit your local post office. Or you can call USPS Customer Care at 1-877-275-8777.
Postal workers are required to search every stage your package has gone through from drop-off to delivery when a Missing Mail claim is filed.
Missing mail cases are packages that have been scanned, but not placed on a vehicle or forgotten.
Therefore, starting a Missing Mail request resolves these issues and gets the package where it needs to be.
Is it possible for USPS to mark packages as delivered before they are delivered?
In most cases, USPS doesn’t mark packages as delivered before delivering them.
The first error occurs when a package has been scanned in to the USPS system. If an employee uses the “Delivered” setting instead of the “Accepted”, then the package will be considered delivered, even though it was only put in the mail.
The scan error can occur when a postal carrier scans a package at an address other than the one designated for delivery (e.g. A house, apartment, or business can be scanned as “Delivered” by a mail carrier.
Unable to deliver a parcel, but scanned by a carrier at the destination of delivery, the courier will report the package status as either “Delivered” (or “Delivery attempted”) even if the action is not taken.
Scan errors are unfortunately more frequent than you might think.
For example, one USPS audit revealed that 191 out of 1,100 packages had been scanned as delivered but were still in the delivery unit waiting to be dropped off.
Why does USPS label my package delivered even though it has just been shipped?
The status of a USPS tracking# might indicate “Delivered”, even though you have just shipped or created the label.
One reason you may be seeing this message is because USPS has used a recycled tracking number.
To check if the number is in fact recycled, look up the details of your tracking number. If your tracking number is recycled, you will usually see a destination and delivery time that do not correspond to your package’s origin or destination.
Recycled tracking numbers happen because of the high volume of shipments sent through USPS. With more than 20 million packages delivered every day, it’s not uncommon for USPS to recycle some tracking numbers.
If you suspect you may be dealing with an old tracking number you should wait.
The tracking information for the parcel will change once the postal service scans it.
Another reason your just-shipped package says “Delivered” is that USPS scanned your package incorrectly.
If USPS’ scanner was set to “Delivered” instead of “Accepted” during the scan, the tracking information will show your package as delivered.
Unfortunately this does not mean that your tracking number will be updated when you scan the label again.
However, USPS customer support representatives should be capable of providing you with updated information through their internal tracking system.
