Does Walmart Take Apple Pay In 2022?

Walmart no longer accepts Apple Pay in their stores, as of 2022. Customers can instead use their iPhones to purchase items through Walmart Pay at the registers and self-checkout aisles. Walmart will accept only MasterCards and Visas.

Walmart Pay – How to Buy an iPhone At Walmart

You are still able to purchase products at Walmart using your iPhone.

You will need to install the Walmart Pay App onto your iPhone.

You can use Walmart Pay App by simply taking your items to the self-checkout or register and scanning the QR code when the total is displayed.

Once you have scanned the QR code you’ll be taken directly to the app, where you can use your debit/credit or card for payment!

Apple Pay works in a similar way to Apple Pay. Your payment will process instantly and, as an added bonus, your digital receipt will be available within the app.

While Walmart Pay is not as seamless as Apple Pay, this is still the next best thing that allows customers to pay digitally and not have to carry around a wallet or purse.

Why doesn’t Walmart accept Apple Pay?

Walmart Pay had an alternative reason for not accepting Apple Pay. They were loyal to Merchant Customer Exchange.

The company (MCX), will only take payment solutions using currentC codes. Walmart doesn’t use MXC because it competes with Apple Pay.

Walmart will not accept Apple Pay because it is impossible to record any information from customers when they purchase.

Walmart is able to use this information for highly valuable purposes, including to provide personalized suggestions and notifications to customers who have used the WalmartPay app.

Apple Pay: Will Walmart ever get Walmart?

A Walmart spokesperson stated that Walmart does not plan to accept Apple Pay. Walmart Pay can be found right within the Walmart app on your iPhone. This means there’s no need to use Apple Pay.

Apple Pay: Which shops accept it?

Apple Pay does not work at Walmart. You can however use Apple Pay in any of the thousands of other shops to buy groceries.

CVS and 7Eleven accept Apple Pay at check-outs. Although they were initially resistant to the app, they have since accepted it. Here are some other retailers that accept Apple Pay:

There Is An Alternative To Apple Pay For Walmart Customers

You can use Apple Pay at Walmart, which is quite interesting. You can access your Apple Pay app by using the ibotta App and Extension. To use ibotta successfully, all you need is:

Install the ibotta application and attach it to your mobile device

You can then choose Apple Pay for payment through the ibotta application in the store, or at home by using the extension on your computer.

Ibotta offers cashback rewards eCorps that pay up to 2% per purchase. You can only use it for items in specific shops. Before you shop, make sure to search for the item and offer on your mobile device.

But when you do use it, you can use your Apple Pay and get cashback instantly (via saving 2%), and all you have to do is show the QR code to the cashier.

There is also an Affirm Financing option

Affirm, which is an installment financing option that you can use to shop online at Walmart, will also be available. Affirm is an installment financing option like other credit payment alternatives.

This app allows you to get funding on-the-spot if you are eligible and you can pay your balance back in 3-6, 6 or 12 months.

The Affirm eCommerce loan option is similar to layaway, and you will not have to pay interest on many items. Items that are not eligible for this option may be charged an APR of between 10 and 30%. Your credit rating will impact the APR.

If you do not already have the Walmart app, follow these steps to download the app so you can start using your iPhone to pay at their checkouts.

Use the Apple App Store to access Walmart Pay on your iPhone.

Click on the Walmart Pay App to begin the download

After the app is downloaded, you can open it and navigate to the Services screen.

Tap on Walmart Pay > Set Up Walmart Pay

To register any card you wish to purchase items at Walmart, follow the simple instructions.
